T-town Downs Effingham Twice; Area Jr. High Roundup

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis downed Effingham in both seventh and eighth-grade girls basketball action Friday.
T-town edged Effingham 26-24 in seventh-grade play. Marianna Hemmen tallied 16 for the winners. Effingham was led by S. Myers with 12.
In eighth-grade action, T-town won 25-3. Jamie Sandschafer scored eight to lead the Booties.
The victories gave the Shoes the championship of the Effingham, Jasper County, St. Anthony and T-town Round Robin Tournament.
T-town is now 8-0 in eighth-grade play and 6-2 in seventh-grade action.

Jasper County defeated St. Anthony in seventh-grade play at the Round Robin Tournament at Teutopolis, 30-10 Friday.
Jasper County held a 13-4 halftime lead. Abby Frohning tallied 13 to lead the winners.

Stewardson-Strasburg claimed two victories over Effingham Sacred Heart.
In the seventh-grade contest, Sacred Heart was a 30-11 winner. Stew-Stras had even scoring as M. Schlechte led with five but five other players scored four points each and a total of eight players reached the scoring column. The Shamrocks were led by Shamhart with six. Stew-Stras is now 6-5 overall.
In eighth-grade action, Stew-Stras won 31-20 to improve to 3-6. B. Schlechte tallied 25 for the winners. Webster led Sacred Heart with eight.

In eighth-grade action, BCCH claimed an 18-14 victory. Skylar Morrison had nine points. BCCH improves to 3-4.

Altamont handed Sigel St. Michael two losses in action Friday.
Altamont won the seventh-grade game 25-18. Carly McHugh tallied 10 points while J. Bueker led St. Michael with nine. Altamont remains unbeaten at 10-0.
In eighth-grade play, Altamont won 47-25. Keidron Duckwitz tallied 22 and Kara Miller 14 for the winners. Hoene led St. Michael with 14. Altamont is now 9-1 on the season.
