Effingham Sacred Heart picked up two junior high girls basketball wins Tuesday evening.

The Shamrocks won the seventh-grade contest 20-15. B. Webster led Sacred Heart with eight points.

In eighth-grade action, Sacred Heart won 38-22. S. Webster tallied 14 and Carie 16.

At Mattoon

At Newton

Effingham and Jasper County split victories. The Mustangs won the seventh-grade game 29-23 to improve to 4-1. Ramos led the Mustangs with 16.

In eighth-grade action, Jasper County won 35-16. Richards tallied 19 to lead the winners. Effingham drops to 1-4.

The Mustangs will play host to St. Anthony Thursday.

At St. Anthony

Teutopolis downed Effingham St. Anthony in both games. The Wooden Booties claimed the seventh-grade encounter 29-10. Marianna Hemmen tallied 18 points for the winners. St. Anthony was led by Maryann Saba with five. T-town improves to 5-1.

In eighth-grade action, T-town won 26-16. Shelby Thompson scored 12. Abbie Schmidt led St. Anthony with eight. T-town is now 6-0.

Stewardson-Strasburg and Arthur split victories. Stew-Stras claimed the seventh-grade game 28-14 to improve to 5-4.

Ballinger led the winners with eight points.

In the eighth-grade game, Arthur beat Stew-Stras 29-24. Arthur stepped out to a 13-7 opening quarter lead and held off a final quarter challenge.

Fifer led the winners with 13 points. B. Schlechte led Stew-Stras with 14. Stew-Stras drops to 2-5.
