EHS Girls Basketball Summer Camp

Effingham Girls Basketball Summer Camp 2016 will be held Monday, June 6 through Wednesday, June 8.

Girls should wear basketball shorts/sweats, T-shirt and basketball/tennis shoes. The camp is open to any area girls, regardless of what school she attends. Cost, including lunch on Tuesday, will be $45, with two children from the same family $85 and with three children from the same family $105. Make checks payable to EHS.

The camp is operated by Effingham High School's head coach Jeff Schafer and assistants Aaron Witges, Troy Van Blaricum, Whitney Duncan and former and currnet players. The camp will focus on developing fundamentals of each basketball camper. Through lecture, drills, individual skills sessions and film, each camper will receive detailed instruction on ballhandling, shooting, passing, dribbling, defense, footwork, rebounding and team play concepts. Smaller goals will be used for grades one through four to ensure that the girls are learning proper fundamentals regardless of strength.

Each camper will play one to two games daily. These will be three-on-three, four-on-four or five-on-five games. Numerous other awards will be distributed in daily camp contests for all different age levels.

Fill out the registration form and mail it, along with camp entry fee, to Jeff Schafer, 303 Santa Fe, Efifngham, IL 62401 or drop the payment and registration off at EHS. Applications will be accepted up until the day of camp. Phone 217-871-2117 to let Coach Schafer know if there is a child going to attend so they can put together teams for games.

I hereby authorize the staff of the Effingham Girls' Basketball Camp to act for me according to their best judgement in any emergency requiring medical attention. I hereby waive and release the camp from any injuries or illnesses incurred while at camp. I have no knowledge of any physical impairment that would be affected by the named camper's participation in the camp program, as outlined.
