Sigel St. Michael won the championship of the Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School Girls Basketball Tournament Saturday.

St. Michael downed Stewardson-Strasburg 38-14 in the championship game. J. Bueker tallied 12 and Schumacher 10 in the victory.

In an opening game, Stew-Stras beat St. Anthony 17-9. St. Anthony led 9-8 at halftime but Stew-Stras came back with a 9-0 second half run to win. Tabbert tallied 10 for the winners. McGuire led St. Anthony with five.

Teutopolis Shootout

Teutopolis picked up two victories in both seventh and eighth grade play in its own shootout Saturday.

Teutopolis downed Marshall 26-11 in seventh-grade play. Marianna Hemmen tallied 12 points to lead the Wooden Booties. In eighth-grade action, T-town was a 35-15 winner. Shelby Thompson led in scoring with 16.

T-town then downed Central A&M 28-20 in seventh-grade play with Macy Michels scoring nine. T-town improves to 4-1.

In eighth-grade play, T-town beat Central A&M 31-6. Jamie Sandschafer had 11 and Thompson 13. T-town improves to 5-0.

In the other games, Central A&M beat Marshall 37-22 in seventh-grade play. Marshall won the eighth-grade game 33-22.
