Sacred Heart Splits, Stew-Stras , St. Michael Wins Twice

Effingham Sacred Heart split victories with Vandalia in girls junior high basketball play Thursday. The Shamrocks won the seventh-grade contest 23-12. Cordes led Sacred Heart with eight points.

In eighth-grade play, Vandalia won 28-16. Sacred Heart was led by Carie with five points.

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg picked up both victories over Dieterich. Stew-Stras won the seventh-grade contest 34-10. Tabbert tallied 11 for the winners. Stew-Stras is now 3-1 in the National Trail Conference, 3-3 overall.

In eighth-grade competition, Stew-Stras won 32-19. B. Schlechte scored 18. Stew-Stras improves to 1-3 in the conference, 2-4 overall.

At Sigel

Sigel St. Michael played host to Beecher Ciy-Cowden-Herrick and handed the Hornets two losses. St. Michael claimed the seventh-grade contest 23-14. Bueker tallied eight points. BCCH drops to 1-5 overall.

In eighth-grade play, St. Michael won 51-43. Hoene tallied 16 and Hotze 14 for the winners while Alyssa Miller tallied 14 and Hope Barnes 10 for BCCH. BCCH drops to 2-3.
