Effingham Sacred Heart and Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick split girls junior high basketball victories Tuesday evening.

The Shamrocks were winners in seventh-grade play 18-10. Carie had five points to lead the winners. BCCH falls to 1-3.

In eighth-grade action, BCCH won 34-19. Skylar Morrison tallied 11 for the winners. Webster scored 11 for Sacred Heart. BCCH improves to 2-3.

At Neoga

Stewardson-Strasburg and Neoga were both winners. Stew-Stras claimed the seventh-grade victory 26-9. Tabbert tallied six to lead the winners as Stew-Stras improved to 2-3.

In eighth-grade action, Neoga claimed a 33-19 victory. Roy scored 19 for Neoga and B. Schlechte scored all 19 points for Stew-Stras which drops to 1-4.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis handed Charleston two losses. T-town won the seventh-grade contest 31-26. Marianna Hemmen tallied 16 and Macy Michels 10 for T-town as the Wooden Booties improve to 2-1.

In eighth-grade play, T-town won 34-9. Shelby Thompson led the winners with 16. T-town improves to 3-0.

T-town is back in action Saturday in a shootout involving Marshall and Moweaqua Central A&M. T-town will play Marshall at 10 a.m. in seventh and eighth grade play followed by Marshall against Central A&M at 12:30 and then T-town finishing out against Central A&M at 3 p.m.

At Vandalia

Altamont captured two victories over Vandalia. Altamont won the seventh-grade contest 21-8 to improve to 7-0. Shelbi Stone and Hanna Wolff scored six points each to lead Altamont.

In eighth-grade play, Altamont tallied a 28-14 victory. Elizabeth Biggs had 17 points. Altamont is now 6-1 on the season.
