Illinois' Run at Big 10 Tournament Ends; Other Friday Big 10 Scores

After two wins at the Big 10 Tournament, Illinois' run came to an end as they were pounded Friday afternoon by the Purdue Boilermakers, 89-58.

Four Purdue players scored in double figures. The Boilermakers made 24 of their first 36 shots, including eight of 14 threes.

Maverick Morgan led Illinois with 17 points, while Malcolm Hill scored 16 points and Kendrick Nunn added 13 points.

Illinois is now 15-19 on the season.

Also Friday in Indianapolis, Michigan defeated top-seeded Indiana 72-69, Michigan State pounded Ohio State 81-54, and Maryland outscored Nebraska 97-86.

In semifinal action today, Michigan plays Purdue at noon, followed by Michigan State and Maryland.

The conference tournament championship game is set for 2pm Sunday.
