Dieterich's Nick Feldhake Advances in Three-Point Shootout

PEORIA -- Dieterich High School's Nick Feldhake advanced to the Final Four in the Country Three-Point Shootout at the Class 1A State Boys Basketball Tournament Thursday.

Feldhake connected on 10 three-pointers along with five other players. All five went into a shoot-off where Feldhake finished second with six and moved into the Final Four.

The other Final Four contestants include Drew Jones (Colfax Ridgeview), Nic Hagel (Steeleville) and Brendan Dutler (East Dubuque). Those four will square off for King of the Hill at 1:45 p.m. today.

Effingham St. Anthony's Drew Gibson, a junior, also competed and finished with six three-pointers. Dustin Quick of Odin tallied nine while Kameron Vinsel of Red Hill (Bridgeport) also had nine.

In Class 2A, Nathan Bartley (Peru St. Bede) tallied 14 while Maverick Taylor (Carlyle) finished with 11, Christian Camarillo (Chicago Holy Trinity) had 10 and in a shootoff, Jake Pennell (Williamsville) had nine and got 7.67 to advance.

The Final Four Class 2A competitors will meet at 8:15 p.m. today.

Carl Repking of Teutopolis will be working the boys state basketball finals this weekend.

Working the Class 1A Super-Sectional at SIU Tuesday night was Dana Anderson.
