The Teutopolis Shoes are in the Final Four of girls Class 2A basketball.

Teutopolis posted a 52-45 win over the Bloomington Central Catholic Saints to win the Champaign Super-Sectional played at Parkland College Monday evening. The game was heard on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com

Teutopolis had just defeated Central Catholic 55-39 two weeks in its regular season finale, also at Parkland.

The Shoes will play at 6:30 p.m. Friday in semifinal action against Westchester St. Joseph, who defeated Chicago Al Raby 63-43 to win the River Forest Super-Sectional at Concordia University.

In the other 2A super-sectionals, Camp Point Central defeated Breese Central 50-47 at Jacksonville and Byron downed Peoria Christian 46-37 to win the Monmouth Super-Sectional. Camp Point Central will take on Byron at 8:15 p.m. Friday in the other 2A semifinal.

The Friday winners will play at 8:15 p.m. Saturday for the state championship while the losers will play for third place at 6:30 p.m.

The Shoes appeared to have the game in hand, leading by as many as 16 points and still up 41-28 after three quarters before Central Catholic put on a furious charge, cutting the deficit to two points before six-for-six foul shooting by senior Anna Hartke helped restore order and led to the Teutopolis victory.

Shelby Thompson was the early heroine for Teutopolis hitting three three-pointers in the first quarter. Teutopolis led 14-4 after one period. Central Catholic pulled back to within 22-14 at halftime, but the Shoes outscored BCC 19-14 in the third quarter to pull ahead by 13.

Thompson hit three more threes on her way to a 22-point night. Hartke finished with 17 points along with 11 rebounds for a double-double. Also for Teutopolis: Jamie Sandschafer five, Raegan Drees four, Danielle Repking three, and Molly Smith one to go along with four assists.

Teutopolis shot 49% from the field, making 16 of 33 including six of 11 threes. The Shoes also hit 14 of 20 foul shots, committed just nine turnovers and grabbed 20 rebounds. BCC shot 54%, making 19 of 35 from the field, but only one of 10 threes. They made six of 10 foul shots, turned the ball over nine times, and grabbed 18 rebounds.

Bloomington Central Catholic finished its season with a 24-7 record. Teutopolis improved to 28-6 on the season.
