MOUNT VERNON -- Effingham High School traveled to Mount Vernon for freshman/sophomore boys basketball competition and fell in both games.
In the freshman contest, Mount Vernon was a 46-42 winner. The Rams held a 30-27 halftime lead and led 40-32 going into the final period.
The Hearts were led in scoring by Cooper Jackson with 16 and Dylan Bushur with 14.
In the sophomore game, Mount Vernon claimed a 69-54 victory. The Rams led 36-23 qt halftime.
EHS was led in scoring by Jason Devore with 17 and Ryan Sandifer with 10.
