Shoes Beat Benton, BCCH Falls to Nokomis

BENTON -- Teutopolis High School handed host Benton a 54-37 loss at the Benton Boys Basketball Shootout Saturday.

"It was by far the best we've played on both ends of the court all year," said T-town Cocah Jason Hanson. "A lot of guys contributed on the boards and defensively."

Brett Mette and Devin Smith led the Shoes with 14 points each. Smith pulled down nine rebounds and Mette had seven. Michael Drees had seven points with five assists and four steals. Blake Mette came off the bench to score seven points and had three rebounds and two steals. Mitch Hardiek added five points and seven boards.

The Shoes improved to 21-5 on the season while Benton dropped to 22-4. T-town will be back in action Saturday in its shootout against Warrensburg-Latham at 7 p.m. Warrensburg-Latham is 22-0 on the season.

 

At Beecher City

Nokomis stepped out to an 18-7 opening quarter lead. Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick came back with a 17-10 second period run to pull within 28-24 at halftime.

Nokomis then had a 25-6 third quarter run to put the game away in the win column, 68-32.

Konner Blackerby tallied 13 for BCCH while Daniel Harder added 11. BCCH drops to 8-14 on the season while Nokomis improves to 15-9.
