Neoga Avenges Earlier Loss, Girls Roundup

NEOGA -- Neoga High School got its revenge over an earlier loss to Altamont in girls basketball play with a 60-56 National Trail Conference victory Monday evening.
Altamont held a 10-9 opening quarter lead but Neoga came back with an 18-8 second period run to lead 27-18 at halftime. Altamont battled back with a 14-11 third quarter count and outscored Neoga 24-22 in the final period only to fall short.
Altamont had beaten Neoga 46-30 in the National Trail Conference Tournament Jan. 18.
EC Thies tallied 28 to lead Neoga while Jaycie Roy added 16. Neoga improves to 20-7 on the season and 5-1 in the conference.
Altamont was led by Duckwitz and Mayhaus with 18 points each.

BSE held a 24-5 opening quarter lead and led 40-14 at halftime. BSE was led by Brown with 19, Fitch with 15, Dana Shelton with 12 and Moore with 12. Brown also had five assists and seven rebounds.
CHBC was led by Skylar Morrison with 16.

The Wooden Shoes stepped out to a 21-8 opening quarter lead but struggled in the third quarter as Mater Dei had a 14-2 run. T-town got back on track in the final quarter.
Shelby Thompson led the Shoes with 11 points and five rebounds. Anna Hartke chipped in with 10 points and led in rebounds with seven. Hartke also had three steals.
