Shoes Drop to Fifth in Boys Poll, Remains Third in Girls Poll

Teutopolis High School dropped from the top spot in the Associated Press Class 2A State Boys Basketball Poll. The Wooden Shoes were ranked No. 1 last week, sporting a 12-1 record.

This week the Shoes fell to No. 5 with a 13-2 mark, garnering 102 points.

Winnebago took over the top spot with five first-place votes and a 13-1 record. Winnebago was second last week. Breese Central moved up from the third spot to No. 2.

In the girls poll, Teutopolis remained at the No. 3 position. Coach Laurie Thompson's crew is sporting a 16-5 record and earned 106 points. Breese Central is in the top spot with nine first-place votes and a 15-3 record.

Teams shifted up and down in the Class 2A boys and girls pools with some moving up and others dropping down. In others receiving votes in the 2A girls pool were Flora and Lawrenceville.
