LOUISVILLE -- North Clay (Louisville) picked up two victories over Effingham Sacred Heart in junior high boys basketball Tuesday evening.
North Clay won the seventh-grade contest 44-27. Ethan Bible tallied 11 points in the opening quarter for the winners and finished with 23 to lead the way.
Swingler and Wallace scored eight points each for the Shamrocks.
In eighth-grade play, North Clay claimed a 60-26 win. North Clay led 31-15 at halftime and had a 24-6 third quarter run.
North Clay was led by Coy Crull with 11 and Tyson Jones with 10.
Sacred Heart was led by W. Swingler with eight.

At Strasburg
Mattoon came calling and handed Stewardson-Strasburg losses in both seventh and eighth grade action.
Mattoon claimed the seventh-grade game 31-1. Stew-Stras had only one point in the final quarter by Wernsing. The homestanders drop to 3-16 on the season.
In eighth-grade competition, Mattoon won 40-14. Kirby tallied seven for Stew-Stras which drops to 6-10.

Jasper County dropped a loss in the LEIC Tournament to Marshall 39-21.
Marshall led 19-12 at halftime then had a 20-9 second half run. Jesse Burdick led the winners with 16 points.
Jasper County was led by Jarrett Tharp with nine and Kyle Schafer with eight. Jasper County will now face Lawrenceville Thursday for third place.
