EHS Graduate Leighton Lark Scores 13 but Millikin Falls

DECATUR, Illinois—The Millikin men’s basketball team lost to fifth ranked Elmhurst College 73-65 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois on January 9. The Bluejays improved to 13-1, 3-0 while Millikin dropped to 6-8, 0-3.
Millikin was led by a career high 23 points from freshman Jack Simpson (Springfield, Missouri, Kickapoo H.S.). Sophomore Leighton Lark (Effingham, H.S.) also put up a career best 13 points and four rebounds. Senior T.J. Griffin (St. Louis, McCluer H.S.) added 12 points and three assists.
The Millikin men lost at North Central College 83-54 in Naperville, Illinois on January 6.
Millikin’s top scorer was T.J. Sims (Bloomington, H.S.) with 16 points. Simpson and Bryn Agnew (Towanda, University H.S.) each added eight points. Simpson had a team high six rebounds.
Millikin hosts Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday, January 13 at 7 p.m.
