The first half decided the game; Charleston led 22-9 after one quarter and 42-21 at halftime. Charleston outscored Effingham only 27-23 in the second half, but the damage was done.

Besides the shooting, Effingham made 16 of 25 from the foul line, turned the ball over 15 times and grabbed 25 rebounds.

Charleston made just seven of 15 at the line, turned the ball over 16 times, but grabbed 36 rebounds, 11 more than Effingham.
