Teutopolis Junior High School claimed seventh and eighth grade B contests over Effingham St. Anthony Saturday.

T-town won the seventh-grade B contest 34-21. The Shoes held a 15-7 first half lead and had an 11-7 final quarter. Koester tallied nine points to lead the Shoes.

St. Anthony was led by Utz with nine points.

In eighth-grade B play, T-town was a 30-19 winner. The Shoes led 17-3 at halftime. T-town was led by Huber with 11 and Kremer with seven.

St. Anthony was led by Fitzgerald with nine.

St. Anthony nabbed a 48-30 win over Mason Clark in seventh-grade play. The Bullpups held a 29-15 hafltime lead. Walsh tallied a whopping 34 points.

At Mattoon

Effingham claimed a seventh-grade B victory over Mattoon Saturday, 37-24.

Mattoon held a 21-13 halftime lead. The Mustangs came back to hold Mattoon scoreless in the third quarter with a 13-0 run to lead 26-21 going into the final quarter then had an 11-3 run.

Blickem and Woelfer tallied seven points each for the Mustangs.

In the eighth-grade B contest, Mattoon won 33-32. Waymoth tallied 14 for the Mustangs.

At Paris

Jasper County opened play in the LEIC Tournament Friday and suffered a seventh-grade loss but picked up the eighth-grade victory.

Jasper County fell in seventh-grade play 44-10. Evan Schafer had five points.

In the eighth-grade game, Jasper County was a 38-31 winner over Paris Mayo. Jarrett Tharp had 18 points.

In Saturday action, Jasper County defeated Martinsville 34-24 in seventh-grade game. Mitch Zumbahlen, Weston Tharp and William Geier tallied eight points each.

In the eighth-grade contest, Jasper County downed Oblong 39-18. Kyle Schafer scored 15 and Tharp 10.
