FLORA -- Effingham St. Anthony fell to Flora in girls basketball competition Saturday, 42-29.

The Bulldogs stayed close in the first half, trailing only 20-18. But Flora came back with a 14-5 third period run on Jones 10 points. The Wolves then had a slight 8-6 final quarter edge.

Jones finished with 21 points as the only player in double figures for both teams.

St. Anthony was led by Emma Richards with seven points. Abby Brown had three steals, Kyla Burton three assists and Abby Weis led in rebounds with nine.

"We played a real nice first half and hit big shots vs. their 2-3 zone and MZM, but in the second half, Flora made some defensive adjustments and we just didn't have an answer offensively," said St. Anthony Coach Bart Wiedman.

The Bulldogs drop to 11-10 on the season.
