Boys Frosh/Soph Basketball -- Jan. 7

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis captured two victories over Mattoon in freshman/sophomore boys basketball competition Thursday.

In the freshman contest, T-town claimed a 55-51 win. In the last 40 seconds of the first quarter, the Wooden Shoes scored 10 unanswered points to claim a 23-13 lead. However, Mattoon outscored T-town 14-3 to tie the score at 40-40 in the third quarter. T-town then had a 15-11 final quarter to pull out the victory.

T-town was led by Clint Weber with 18 and Dawson Smith with 15.

The sophomore game wasn't as close with Teutopolis jumping out to a 19-10 first quarter lead and extending that to 33-17 by halftime. The final was T-town winning 57-36.

The Shoes were led by Eric Kremer with 11 points and Collin Funneman with 10.
