Junior High Boys Basketball -- Dec. 21

Teutopolis Junior High School nabbed a seventh-grade win over Effingham St. Anthony Monday evening, 50-25.

The Shoes stepped out to a 14-4 opening quarter lead and had that same tally in the second quarter for a 28-8 halftime lead. The Bullpups mounted a comeback bid with a 14-8 run but T-town came back in the final quarter with a 14-3 edge.

M. Deters tallied 20 points for the winners. Antrim scored 10 points for the Bullpups.

In eighth-grade play, T-town was a 49-35 winner. The Shoes took a 12-1 opening quarter lead. The Bullpups played pretty even the rest of the way.

Ungrund led the Shoes with 18 points while M. Hardiek added nine. St. Anthony was led by Hoene with 11 and  Webb with 10.

At Iuka

North Clay (Louisville) picked up two victories over Iuka Monday evening.

North Clay won the seventh-grade encounter 31-20. North Clay held a 17-12 halftime lead and outscored Iuka 14-8 in the second half.

Ethan Bible tallied 12 points for the winners.

In the eighth-grade contest, North Clay won 50-21. Luke Fleener scored 13 to lead the winners while Coby Zimdars added eight.
