SEB Wins St. Elmo Holiday Tournament; Other Saturday Scores

St. Elmo/Brownstown captured the championship of the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament with a 74-61 win over Cumberland Saturday night.

The Eagles put up a 26-point first quarter and led 41-28 at halftime. Cumberland pulled to within 51-45 after three quarters, but SEB outscored the Pirates 23-16 in the final stanza to post the 13-point win.

Landon Feezel scored 23 points to pace the Eagles attack with Kyle Hardimon adding 17 points and Trey Pasley scoring 11. Also for SEB: Lewis Brown 8, Dylan Brooks 8, Klayton Kroll 5, Noah Flowers 2

Cumberland's Gunnar McMechan led all scorers with 26 points. Also for the Pirates: Tyson Magee 8, Brandon Shaon 7, Gabe Hatfill 6, Ryan Green 5, Mike Wolke 5, Sam Bauguss 4

Okaw Valley took third place honors Saturday with a 60-44 win over South Central.

Pierce Bradford's 22 points led Okaw Valley.

Drevonte Hill scored 15 points and Brett Harmeier 12 to pace South Central. Also for the Cougars: Caleb Harpster 6, Logan Lotz 4, Dylan Markley 3, Ryan Matheny 3, Jon Arnold 1

Mulberry Grove beat Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 59-50 for fifth place. 

Ty James scored 22 points to lead Mulberry Grove.

The Vandalia JV team downed Ramsey 67-46 in the seventh place game.

Landon Feezel of SEB was named the tournament MVP. Other first-team members are Gunnar McMechan of Cumberland, Ty James of Mulberry Grove, Pierce Bradford of Okaw Valley and Kyle Hardimon of SEB.

Second team honorees are Tyson Magee of Cumberland, Drevonte Hill of South Central, Klayton Kroll of SEB, Connor Cloyd of Okaw Valley and Austin Rexroad of BCCH.

SEB won the cheerleading award, with South Central finishing second.
