St. Elmo/Brownstown, Okaw Valley Nab Tourney Wins

ST. ELMO -- St. Elmo/Brownstown put together a 39-14 first half run and never looked back in a 72-23 victory over Ramsey in the 56th Annual St. Elmo Holiday Boys Basketball Tournament Wednesday.

SEB sailed out to the big lead, going 16-4 in the opening quarter as five players scored. Hardimon tallied nine in the second period run and Brown knocked down two three-pointers.

SEB then had a 33-9 second half run. Hardimon led the way with 15 points while Feezel scored 13 and Brown 12.

In the second game of the evening, Okaw Valley beat Mulberry Grove 73-57. Mulberry Grove held the early lead, going out to 20-12 after the first quarter but Okaw Valley came back to knot the score at 24-24 at halftime.

Then in the second half, Okaw Valley had a 49-33 run for the victory. Bradford tallied 25 and Cloyd 24 for the winners.

Tonight's games feature Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick against Vandalia JV at 6:15 followed by South Central taking on Cumberland at 7:45.
