Charleston, Knights Classic, Tri-County Tourney Pairings Released

The Charleston Holiday Girls Basketball Tournament pairings have been released. In the Red Pool are Charleston, Rantoul, Danville and Urbana. In the Gold Pool are Effingham, Charleston JV, Paris and Decatur Eisenhower.

The tournament opens play Monday, December 28 and the Hearts are first on the schedule at 9 a.m. against Charleston JV. EHS will then play a 4:30 p.m. game against Decatur Eisnhower.

The tourney continues Tuesday, December 29. EHS will face Paris at 10:30 a.m. The other pairings will be determined by wins and losses December 29 and Wednesday, December 30.

Knights Classic Girls Holiday Tournament

Cumberland and Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor will be competing in the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights Classic Holiday Girls Basketball Tournament.

In Pool A are ALAH, Chrisman, Shelbyville and Tri-County. In Pool B are Cumberland, Oakwood, Stew-Stras/Windsor and Decatur St. Teresa.

The tournament opens Monday, December 21. Cumberland will face Decatur St. Teresa at 2:30 p.m. while Stew-Stras/Windsor takes on Oakwood at 5:30. The two local squads will square off at 8:30 p.m.

In December 22 action, Stew-Stras/Windsor faces St. Teresa at 1 p.m. and Cumberland takes on Oakwood at 4 p.m. The finals are scheduled for December 23.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg will be competing in the Tri-County Holiday Boys Basketball Tournament.

In Pool A are Paris, Westville Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond and Tri-County. In Pool B are Chicago Christ the King, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, Hutsonville/Palestine and Martinsville.

The tourney opens play Monday, December 23 with Windsor/Stew-Stras taking on Tri-County at 6 p.m. WSS will then face Chicago Christ the King Tuesday, December 29 at 9 a.m. and Martinsville at 3 p.m.

The tournament comes to a close Wednesday, December 30 with the title contest at 7:30 p.m.
