VIDEO: Shoes Smash Bulldogs in Girls Basketball

The Teutopolis Shoes were impressive Monday night as they throttled the St. Anthony Bulldogs 64-22 in girls action at J.H. Griffin Gym. The game was heard on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com. The game was also videotaped, so watch for it online.

Teutopolis got off to a quick lead while holding St. Anthony scoreless for much of the first period, leading 16-2 after one quarter. TTown led 29-6 at halftime and outscored St. Anthony 24-4 in the third period to pull ahead 53-10 before St. Anthony outpointed the Shoes 12-11 in the final quarter.

Teutopolis hit 52% from the field, 26 of 50, including two of seven three-point tries. The Shoes made seven of 12 foul shots, turned the ball over nine times, and pulled down 28 rebounds.

St. Anthony made 31% of its shots, eight of 26, including one of four three-pointers. The Bulldogs made five of 11 foul shots, committed 20 turnovers, and grabbed 16 rebounds.

Shelby Thompson led a balanced scoring attack for Teutopolis with 13 points, while Jamie Sandschafer scored 11 points and Molly Smith 10. Also for TTown: Danielle Repking 8, Jolene Bueker 8, Anna Hartke 8, Raegan Drees 4, Macy Michels 2. Bueker led Teutopolis in rebounds with 7.

For St. Anthony: Emily McDevitt 5, Olivia Clausius 4, Abby Brown 3, Hunter Niebrugge 3, Kyla Burton 3, Emma Richards 2, Abby Weis 2. Richards had 5 rebounds.

Teutopolis improved to 9-2, while St. Anthony fell to 7-4.

Teutopolis won the JV game 55-11.
