Okaw Valley, Mattoon Girls Tournament Pairings Released

Tournament pairings have been released for the Okaw Valley Girls Holiday Tournament and the 37th Annual Mattoon Girls Holiday Basketball Tournament.

Altamont and the Teutopolis Junior Varsity will be competing in the Okaw Valley meet which will be held Saturday, December 19 and Monday, December 21.

The Indians will face Okaw Valley at 9 a.m. Saturday and will play the Teutopolis JV at 3 p.m. T-town's JV also will face Okaw Valley at noon.

The finals are scheduled for Monday, December 21 with the consolation championship at 4 p.m., the third place game at 5:30 and the championship at 7.

Saturday, December 19

Game 1 -- Okaw Valley vs. Altamont, 9 a.m.

Game 2 -- Blue Ridge vs. Maroa-Forsyth, 10:30 a.m.

Game 3 -- Okaw Valley vs. Teutopolis JV, noon

Game 4 -- Maroa-Forsyth vs LSA, 1:30 p.m.

Game 5 -- Altamont vs. Teutopolis JV, 3 p.m.

Game 6 -- LSA vs. Blue Ridge, 4:30 p.m.

Monday, December 21

Mattoon Tournament

Effingham St. Anthony will compete in the 37th Annual Mattoon Holiday Tournament Monday, December 28, Tuesday, December 29 and Wednesday, December 30.

In Pool A are St. Anthony, Mattoon, Galesburg and Sullivan. In Pool B are Salem, Olney, Decatur MacArthur and Vandalia.

The Bulldogs will face Mattoon at 11:30 a.m. December 28 and Sullivan at 6 p.m. St. Anthony then takes on Galesburg at 1 p.m. December 29.

The tourney comes to a close December 30 with the seventh place game at 3 p.m., the fifth place game at 5, the third place contest at 6 and the championship at 7:30.
