Sigel St. Michael and Dieterich advanced to the championship of the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Boys Basketball Tournament with victories Tuesday evening.
Sigel St. Michael defeated Neoga 43-31 in the first game. Dieterich tallied a 42-27 win over Altamont. St. Michael and Dieterich meet Thursday at 8 p.m. for the championship.
Neoga will take on Altamont at 6:45 p.m. for third place. St. Elmo/Brownstown and Stewardson-Strasburg will square off for the consolation championship at 5:30 p.m.
At Teutopolis
Teutopolis fell to Charleston in eighth-grade A and B basketball competition Monday evening.
Charleston won the B game, 40-38. T-town held a 15-12 halftime lead and led 30-21 going into the final quarter. Charleston mounted a big rally and outscored the Shoes 19-8 to pull out the two-point victory.
Ruholl led T-town with 12 points.
In the A contest, Charleston claimed a 40-37 win. T-town was led by Hemmen with 13 and Ungrund with 11.
