DIETERICH -- Dieterich High School claimed a 69-34 victory over Neoga in National Trail Conference boys basketball action Tuesday evening.

Dieterich stepped out to a 22-9 opening quarter lead and led 43-15 at halftime. Three players scored in double figures for the Movin' Maroons. Feldhake, Campton and Niemerg tallied 13 points each. The Maroons connected on 11 three-pointers. Campton, N. Feldhake and Poe had three each. Dieterich improves to 5-2.

Neoga was led by Easton with 10.

At Altamont

Altamont edged out to a 17-13 opening quarter lead then had an 18-8 second period run and finished with a 78-53 non-conference win over Newton.

Four players scored in double figures for the Indians. Hosick tallied 20 while Armstrong added 19, Mayhaus 10 and Childerson 10. Hosick knocked in seven field goals, four of those from three-point range. Armstrong hit five field goals, two from three-point range and seven free throws.

Newton was led by Brock Mammoser with 23 points and Joe Stone with 13. The Eagles drop to 2-4.

Four players connected in double figures as Cumberland beat Casey-Westfield 64-56.

Casey-Westfield took a 12-6 opening quarter lead but the Pirates came roaring back in the second period to lead 30-28 at halftime. Sam Bauguss hit eight points, two of those from three point range. Magee and Gunner McMechan had five each. Both connected on a three-pointer.

Cumberland pushed farther ahead in the third quarter, 46-40 and finished out strong.

Bauguss tallied 16 points while Ryan Green and Magee had 12 each and McMechan finished with 10. The Pirates ended with 10 three-pointers.

Arcola had a big third quarter scoring surge and finished out with a 74-40 non-conference victory over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Tuesday evening.

Arcola led 32-23 at halftime then had a 26-8 third period run to put the contest away. Seaman tallied 21 and Hutton 17 for the winners.

WSS was led by Warner with 12. Windsor/Stew-Stras drops to 2-2 on the season.
