Patoka Edges South Central in Boys Action

PATOKA -- Patoka High School edged South Central 48-46 in boys basketball competition Monday evening, giving the Cougars their first loss of the season.
Patoka edged out to a 12-10 opening quarter lead and led by that same count at halftime, 25-23. South Central came back in the third quarter with a 15-14 edge as Brett Harmeier tallied 11 points. But it wasn't enough as the Warriors had a 9-8 final period edge to claim the two point win.
Harmerier led South Central with 22 points while Drevonte Hill scored eight in the opening quarter and 13 by halftime to help the Cougars stay close. Hill tallied 19.
South Central drops to 3-1 on the season and will be back in action Friday at Altamont.
