Effingham St. Anthony claimed a 41-22 win over Olney in seventh-grade boys basketball action Saturday.

The Bullpups jumped out to an 18-6 first half lead. Walsh tallied 11 points for the winners.

No eighth-grade game was reported.

In sixth-grade basketball play, St. Anthony lost to North Clay (Lousiville) in B competition 24-18 and won the A game 38-35.

At Sigel

The Seventh-Grade National Trail Conference Tournament opened play Saturday at Sigel St. Michael.

St. Michael defeated Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 43-14 in the first game of the day followed by Neoga downing St. Elmo/Brownstown 34-17, Altamont beating Stewardson-Strasburg 49-25 and Dieterich winning over Effingham Sacred Heart 45-28.

The tournament continue today with CHBC against SEB at 6:15 p.m. followed by Sacred Heart facing Stew-Stras at 7:30.
