NEOGA -- Altamont Junior High School's seventh-grade girls basketball team captured the championship of the Class 7-2A Neoga Regional Tuesday.

Altamont edged out to a 6-2 opening quarter lead then had a 12-4 second period run to lead 18-6 at halftime. Altamont then outscored Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor 14-8 in the second half for the 32-14 win.

Mette, Runge and McManaway provided even scoring for the winners with eight points each. Nichols led SSW with six points. SSW finishes the season at 14-8.

Altamont advances to the Effingham St. Anthony Sectional December 2 and will face North Clay (Louisville) at 6:30 p.m.

Class 7-3A Teutopolis Regional

Teutopolis advanced to the championship of its own regional with a victory Tuesday evening.

The Shoes bounced Cumberland 26-1. The lone point for Cumberland came in the second quarter as T-town took a 10-1 halftime lead then held the opposing team scoreless for a 16-0 second half run.

Carly Michels tallied 18 for theh Shoes who improve to 14-8.

In the second contest, Vandalia downed Pana 21-14. Vandalia and Teutopolis will now square off for the championship tonight at 6 p.m. The winner advances to the Marshall Sectional December 2 against Jasper County at 6:30 p.m.

Class 7-3A Marshall  Regional

Jasper County claimed the championship of the Marshall Regional. Jasper County beat host Marshall 29-13.

Jasper County now advances to the Marshall Sectional December 2 and will take on the winner of the Teutopolis Regional, either T-town or Vandalia, at 6:30 p.m.
