Effingham and Teutopolis split junior high girls basketball victories Thursday evening.
The Mustangs won the seventh-grade game 30-22. Effingham took an 18-14 halftime lead then had a 12-8 second half run. Diveley tallied 18 for the winners. T-town was led by Carly Michels with seven as the Shoes dropped to 13-8.
In the eighth-grade contest, T-town was dominant with a 38-3 win. T-town held Effingham scoreless in the opening quarter for a 15-0 count. Olivia Niemerg led the winners with 16 points. The Shoes improve to 21-0 on the season. Effingham was led by Kull with two.
Both teams will head into regional action Monday and Tuesday.

At Strasburg
Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor claimed the seventh-grade game over Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick, 30-21.
SSW held a 10-8 first half lead then had a 20-13 second half run. Hayes scored nine and Nichols eight for the winners who improve to 5-2 in the National Trail Conference, 13-7 overall. Cherry tallied 11 for BCCH.
In the eighth-grade contest, BCCH claimed a 36-9 victory. BCCH took a 20-5 first half lead and never looked back. Robertson, Wojak and Wheeler tallied eight points each for the winners. SSW dropped to 0-7 in the conference, 5-14 overall.
SSW and BCCH will compete in the same regional at Neoga and will meet again Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
