Neoga came calling at Effingham St. Anthony and handed the Bullpups two losses in junior high boys basketball Monday evening.

Neoga beat St. Anthony B 23-15, taking a 15-10 first half lead and blanking the Bullpups 6-0 in the final quarter. Johnson tallied 10 for the winners. St. Anthony was led by Heuerman with five.

In the eighth-grade contest, Neoga held a 12-6 halftime lead and edged St. Anthony 18-16.

McClure scored six for the winners. Wiedman and Willenborg led St. Anthony with six each.

At Robinson

Effingham improved to 4-1 on the season with a 30-24 win over Robinson Nuttall in seventh-grade play Monday.

EJHS held a 15-11 halftime lead then had an 8-2 third quarter run. Duncan scored 16 for the Mustangs.

In eighth-grade play, Robinson edged out to a 4-2 first quarter lead then pushed that to 15-11 at halftime. Nuttall had a 12-4 final period surge for the 40-25 win.

Effingham was led by Parker Siner with six points as the Mustangs drop to 0-5.

At Strasburg

Okaw Valley claimed two victories over Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor Monday evening.

Okaw Valley won the seventh-grade game 40-24. Wernsing led SSW with 11 points as the Stars drop to 1-3 on the season.

In the eighth-grade contest, Okaw Valley claimed a 50-16 win. Jesgarz led SSW with 11 points. The Stars fell to 1-3.

At Altamont

Atlamont played host to Dieterich and picked up two victories.

Altamont was a 43-35 winner in seventh-grade competition. Altamont pushed ahead 22-14 by the half. Eirhart scored 16 for the winners, nine of those points coming from the free throw line. Dieterich was led by Gephart with 10.

In the eighth-grade contest, Altamont had a big scoring opening quarter with a 22-4 run and went on for a 47-18 win. Kollmann connected on five field goals and a free throw in the opening quarter for 11 points. He finished with 15 for the winners.

Dieterich was led by Niebrugge with seven points.

At Flora

Flora Floyd Henson picked up two wins over visiting Jasper County Monday evening.

In the seventh-grade contest, Flora was a 36-25 winner. Jasper County was led by Evan Schafer with seven points.

In the eighth-grade game, Flora won 42-33. Flora broke a 7-7 opening quarter tie with a 12-9 second period run and outscored Jasper County 23-17 in the second half. Jarrett Tharp led Jasper County with 10 points.
