ALTAMONT -- Altamont Junior High School played host to Effingham and sent the Mustangs home with two girls basketball losses Monday evening.
Altamont claimed the seventh-grade game, 27-24. Effingham held a 16-15 halftime lead before Altamont went on a 9-6 third quarter run. Runge led the winners with eight points. Effingham was led by Armstrong with eight as the Mustangs dropped to 11-4.
In seventh-grade play, Altamont was a 34-16 winner. Altamont stepped out to a 16-8 first half lead. Guse tallied a whopping 22 points for the winners. Effingham was led by Niebrugge with eight as the Mustangs drop to 4-11.

At Teutopolis
Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick and Teutopolis split victories Monday evening.
BCCH claimed the seventh-grade game 31-25. BCCH stepped out to a 13-10 opening half lead then had an 18-15 second half run. Madison Cherry tallied 12 for the winners. T-town was led by Carly Michels with nine. T-town drops to 11-6.
In the eighth-grade game, Teutopolis easily took a 39-7 victory. The Shoes led 17-6 at halftime and had a 22-1 second half. T-town is now 17-0 on the season.
Claire Bushur tallied 10 points to lead the winners. Jaelyn Robertson, Kylee Wheeler and Lauren Wojick scored two each for BCCH.

At Dieterich
St. Elmo/Brownstown picked up two wins over Dieterich in action Monday evening.
SEB won the seventh-grade contest 48-28. Campbell guided the winners with 15 first half points and 10 in the third quarter for a total of 27 points. Dieterich was led by Wendte with nine.
In the eighth-grade contest, SEB tallied a 44-17 victory. SEB had a 15-4 second quarter run and a 14-5 third period run. C. Wilhour scored 19 for the winners. Dieterich was led by Niemerg with four.

Jasper County picked up two victories over Casey-Westfield. Jasper County won the seventh-grade game 26-13.
Jasper County stepped out to a 12-0 first inning lead. Allison Einhorn led the winners with 10 points.
In eighth-grade action, Jasper County pounded Casey-Westfield 38-9. Eliza Bierman and Josie Grunloh tallied eight points each for the winners.
