CASEY -- Effingham split victories with Casey-Westfield in junior high girls basketball competition Monday evening.
The Mustangs won the seventh-grade contest by blanking Casey-Westfield 31-0. The Mustangs held a 15-0 first half lead. Diveley tallied nine while Armstrong scored eight for the winners who improve to 9-3.
In eighth-grade action, Casey-Westfield was a 27-25 winner over Effingham. Casey-Westfield led 12-10 at halftime then had to fight off a final quarter challenge by the Mustangs.
Effingham was led by Maulding with 11 points as EJHS dropped to 2-10.

Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick handed Sullivan two losses. BCCH won the seventh-grade contest 27-22 to improve to 11-2 on the season.
Madison Cherry tallied 12 points and Sydney Lorton seven.
In eighth-grade play, BCCH won 31-14 and is 9-4. Jaelyn Robertson scored 13 and Kylee Wheeler eight for the winners.

At Altamont
Altamont and Teutopolis split victories Monday evening.
Altamont claimed the seventh-grade encounter 33-19. T-town held an 11-10 first half lead before Altamont came roaring back with a 23-8 second half run.
Runge tallied 13 for the winners while Pemberton added nine. T-town was led by Carly Michels with 13 as the Shoes drop to 9-4.
In eighth-grade play, T-town picked up a 37-23 victory with a 26-9 second and third quarter run.
T-town was led by Olivia Niemerg with 16 points as the Shoes improve to 13-0. Altamont was led by Guse with 15.

At Strasburg
Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor picked up two wins over Okaw Valley Monday.
SSW claimed the seventh-grade contest easily 22-4. The winners held a 14-0 first half lead. Hoene and Megan Nichols tallied six points each as the squad improved to 8-7.
In eighth-grade action, Stew-Stras/Windsor edged Okaw Valley 21-19. After trailing 10-5 at halftime, SSW came back with an 8-2 third quarter run to lead 13-12 going into the final quarter then held off Okaw Valley.
Davis, Arthur, Hayes and Schlechte tallied four points each in even scoring for the winners who picked up their first victory and stand at 1-11.

At Dieterich
Jasper County handed Dieterich a loss in seventh-grade play but Dieterich claimed the eighth-grade game.
Jasper County picked up a 22-9 win in the seventh-grade. Jacey Parr tallied nine and Whitney Zumbahlen eight for the winners.
In the eighth-grade contest, Dieterich edged Jasper County 26-24. Dieterich held a 10-9 first half lead then took off with a 12-5 run to lead 22-14 going into the final quarter. Jasper County came back with a 10-4 run only to fall short.
Dieterich was led by Bloemer, Bierman and Curry with six points each. Jasper County was led by Allison Harris with six.
