OVC Basketball Games Broadcast Released

The Ohio Valley Conference has announced that 10 OVC basketball games this season will be broadcast by Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. on the American Sports Network (ASN).

The schedule includes eight men’s basketball contests (three of which are non-conference games) and two women’s basketball games. That number is up from five total contests a season ago. Included in that set of contests will be three Eastern Illinois basketball games.

The EIU men will have two home games on American Sports Network after hosting a pair of ASN games last season in Lantz Arena. The two games are Saturday, Feb. 6 against Southeast Missouri and Wednesday, Feb. 10 against Austin Peay. Both men’s games are part of OVC doubleheaders on those dates. On Feb. 6 the men will play at 11 a.m. on ASN with the non-televised women’s game set to follow at 1:30 p.m. On Feb. 10 the women will play a non-televised game at 5:15 against APSU with the men’s game on tap for an 8 p.m. start on ASN.

The EIU women will make their first ASN appearance on Wednesday, Feb. 24 as they travel to UT Martin for an 8 pm start.

The American Sports Network is an initiative of the Sinclair Networks Group, LLC, owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., which owns and operates programs and provides sales serves to 164 television stations in 79 markets, reaching approximately 43 percent of U.S. television households. It includes FOX, ABC, CBS, MyTV, CW, NBC, Univision and Azteca affiliates.

The exact stations each of the games will air will be announced at a later date.
