EIU Announces Addition Of Patrick Muldoon

Eastern Illinois head basketball coach Jay Spoonhour has announced the addition of 6’7” forward Patrick Muldoon, who will join the Panthers roster next season.

Muldoon played for coach Mike McBride at Basehor-Linwood High School in Kansas. He was named the school’s Male Athlete of the Year after leading the school to a 24-1 record and Kansas Class 4A state runner-up finish this past season. He averaged 17.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game with 32 blocked shots. He connected for 58 percent from the field as he earned first team Class 4A All-State honors. He was first team All-Kaw Valley League as both a senior and junior earning league player of the year honors this season. During his junior season he earned second team All-State honors leading his team to the Kansas state playoff quarterfinal round finishing with a 19-4 record. He averaged 16 points and 9 rebounds per game.

Muldoon played AAU basketball for coach Rodney Perry on the MOKAN Elite Nike EYBL team where he was a teammate of incoming Panther Casey Teson, the Missouri Class 4A co-Player of the Year.

"We're very excited to have Patrick. He's a really competitive and smart player. He's played against some of the best players in the country and he hasn't backed down yet. He's definitely going to make us better."

Muldoon joins an incoming EIU class that includes Teson, Kansas All-State player Lucas Jones, Missouri All-State player Marshawn Blackmon, Aleksa Novakovic who played at Findlay College Prep in Las Vegas and junior college players A.J. Riley and Demetrius McReynolds.
