Two members of Dennis Koester's highly successful Teutopolis Lady Shoes basketball teams have been inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Carrie (Weber) Repking and Gina (Bloemer) Koester were honored at the IBCA Annual Banquet on May 2 at Illinois State University.

The former Carrie Weber scored 1,143 points for the Lady Shoes, and played on Teutopolis squads that achieved Sweet 16, Elite Eight and state third place honors.

The former Gina Bloemer played on a state championship team at Teutopolis, as well as third place, Elite Eight and Sweet 16 teams. She totaled 1,211 career points and more than 300 assists. She went on to play at McKendree College where she also had great success.

Also inducted into the Hall of Fame as a Friend of Basketball was the late Carl Koerner.

The founder of Koerner Distributor was also a strong supporter of high school basketball and helped establish a golf outing now known as the Carl P. Koerner, Jr. Sports Spectacular. The outing has raised more than $600,000 for the St. Anthony and Effingham school sports programs.
