IBCA Hall of Fame Banquet Set To Honors Players, Coaches Saturday

On Saturday, May 2, the 43rd annual Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame Banquet will be held at the Bone Center, Illinois State University.

A sell-out crowd of 1,200 will attend a most special occasion -- a final tribute to the late Chuck Rolinski; Executive Director and co-founder of the IBCA. Other notables in attendance will be former Illini Coach Lou Henson, Hall of Fame inductees Terry Cummings and Bobby Simmons of DePaul University, Dana Anderson of Bradley, “Robo” Kreps of Maroa-Forsyth and University of Illinois Chicago, Bill Braksick of Flanagan and ISU, Katie Coleman of the U of I.

Other events include; the presentation of Mr. & Ms. Basketball by the Chicago Tribune, as well as Hall of Fame inductions for players, coaches, media, and Friends of Basketball. Special selections include the 2005 and 2009 Peoria Richwoods girls teams, the 2005 Rock Island Alleman girls team, and the 2004, Decatur St. Teresa girls team. And Coach of the Year awards will be presented to over 150 of junior high, high school and college coaches.

Coaches from this area receiving awards are Jeff Staser (Dieterich) and Jason Hanson (Casey-Westfield) in Class 1A and Andy Fehrenbacher (Teutopolis) in Class 2A.
