EHS' Jacob Donaldson Competed at Class 3A State Three-Point Showdown

PEORIA -- Effingham High School's Jacob Donaldson competed in the Class 3A Country Financial Three-Point Showdown Thursday at Peoria's Carver Arena before the State Boys Basketball Tournament.

The sophomore connected on eight but it wasn't enough to advance to the finals.

Advancing were Charleston's Will Strader, a junior, with 11. Max Ramos, a senior from Westchester St. Joseph, had 11. Will Daniels, a junior from Geneseo and Jack Westerkamp, a junior from Lombard Montini, both hit 10 each. They advanced to shootoffs where Daniels connected on eight and Westerkamp seven to advance.

Chicago Morgan Park will face Belleville Althoff at 12:15 p.m. today in the Class 3A State Tournament followed by Rockford Lutheran facing Westchester St. Joseph at 2 p.m.

In the Class 4A State Tournament, Bolingborok will face Lincolnshire Stevenson at 6:30 p.m. followed by  Geneva against Normal Community at 8:15.

The winners advance to the championship games Saturday while the losers will play for third place.
