EHS Frosh/Soph Teams Capture Wins

SALEM -- Effingham High School picked up both freshman and sophomore boys basketball wins over Salem Tuesday evening.
The Hearts won the freshman game 51-24. Ryan Sandifer got the Hearts off in the right direction with fouir baskets and a free throw in the opening quarter. Jason Devore knocked in two three-pointers and a regular basket in the third period and finished with 13 to lead the Hearts. Sandifer chipped in with 11.
In the sophomore contest, Effingham picked up a 45-41 victory. The Hearts edged ahead 11-10 after one quarter then had a 15-9 second period run. EHS led 35-30 going into the final quarter.
Harrison Smith scored 16 for the Hearts while Wyatt Keith added 11.
