CHBC Claims Girls Win, S. Central, N.C. Fall

COWDEN -- Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City edged Sandoval 47-43 in a non-conference girls basketball game Tuesday evening.
Sandoval took an 8-7 opening quarter lead but CHBC came back to lead 19-13 at halftime. The Hornets led 36-28 going into the final quarter when the Blackhawks mounted a comeback only to fall short.
J. Morrison tallied 17 points, pulled down 20 rebounds and had two assists for CHBC. Ward scored 15, Meek had two steals and Barnes had two blocks. Sandoval was led by Kunick with 12 points and Parson with 10.

CORL led 23-11 at halftime. South Central played CORL almost even in the second half. Abby Hahn led the Cougars with 16 points.
South Central drops to 7-15 on the season.

Wayne City held a 19-14 halftime lead then had a 12-9 third period run. The winners were led by Bass with 16 and Pasley with 11.
North Clay was led by Mikayla Stanfield with 11.
