CHARLESTON -- Effingham St. Anthony fell to Charleston in freshman/sophomore girls basketball competition Tuesday evening, 42-34.
The Bulldogs held a 12-10 opening quarter lead and led 18-10 at halftime. Charleston edged back with a 9-8 third quarter run to trail 26-19 going into the final quarter. From there the Trojans went out at 23-8 to pick up the come-from-behind victory.
Abbie Schmidt led St. Anthony with 10 points.

At Salem
Teutopolis ended its freshman/sophomore season with a 60-48 victory over Salem Tuesday evening.
The Wooden Shoes trailed Salem 17-8 after the opening quarter and 28-25 at halftime. T-town then had a 35-20 second half run.
Three players hit double figures. Jolene Bueker led with 21 while Macy Michels added 13 and Marianna Hemmen 11. T-town ends its season with a 22-4 record.
