T-town Wins Friday Boys Contest, ALAH Wins LOVC Tourney

TAYLORVILLE -- Teutopolis High School handed visiting Taylorville a 61-55 boys basketball defeat in action Friday evening.
The Wooden Shoes trailed Taylorville 20-12 after the opening quarter but came back for a 32-30 halftime lead. The Shoes then had a 10-6 third quarter run.
Brett Mette tallied 18 points for the Shoes while Hardiek added 11 and Thoele 10.
T-town is now 19-4 on the season.

At Arcola
Hutsonville/Palestine captured the championship of the LOVC Southeast Division Tournament by edging Tri-County 65-63 Friday. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond won the Northwest Division.
Hutsonville/Palestine then turned around and lost to Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 69-51 Saturday as the winners of each division met for the overall championship.
In the third place contest Saturday, Tri-County defeated Decatur LSA 65-44. Villa Grove-Heritage was a 111-108 winner over Argenta-Oreana in the fifth place contest in double overtime.
