Girls Frosh-Soph -- Jan. 28

Effingham St. Anthony played host to Mount Vernon and fell to the Rams 26-23 in freshman/sophomore girls basketball competition Wednesday evening.

The two teams played to a 6-6 opening quarter tie and were knotted at 13-13 at halftime. The Bulldogs moved ahead 19-17 going into the final period but Mount Vernon came back with a 9-4 run to pull out the win.

Olivia Clausius led the Bulldogs with 12 points.
