T-town Ties For Nashville Crown, C'land Advances at LOVC, Woodlawn Wins MTC, LIC Scores

NASHVILLE -- Teutopolis High School came into the final night of the Nashville Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament with a perfect 3-0 record. But the Wooden Shoes fell to Breese Central 57-47 to finish 3-1 in the tournament and in a tie with Nashville for first place.
Breese Central edged out to a 9-8 openng quarter lead but T-town came back to lead 22-20 at halftime. Central then had a 16-8 third quarter run and put the contest away.
Gebben and Brett Mette scored 11 points each while Hardiek added 10 for the Shoes. T-town is now 18-3 on the season.
Following the top two teams were Breese Central 2-2, Breese Mater Dei 2-2 and Mascoutah 0-4.

Little Okaw Valley Conference Southeast Division Tournament
Cumberland picked up an opening round win in the Little Okaw Valley Conference Tournament Saturday.
The Pirates defeated Oblong 64-54. Cumberland stood with a first half 32-19 lead. Oblong came back to pull within 41-36 going into the final quarter before Cumberland went out 23-18.
Brumleve and Napier scored 15 points each for the winners while Cutts added 10.
Cumberland will now face top-seeded Tri-County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
In the second contest, Hutsonville/Palestine won over Martinsville 71-28. Hutsonville/Palestine now faces No. 2 Villa Grove/Heritage at 7:30 p.m. today.

Midland Trail Conference Tournament
Woodlawn captured the championship of the Midland Trail Conference Tournament Saturday.
Woodlawn defeated Odin 55-41 to clinch the crown. Third place went to Waltonville over Cisne 62-57. Webber Township (Bluford) won the consolation championship over Sandoval 67-58.
Little Illini Conference Tournament
In Saturday action at the Little Illini Conference Tournament, Lawrenceville downed Paris 74-57, Flora won over Robinson 74-56, Casey-Westfield downed Olney 42-28 and Marshall won over Edwards County (Albion) 62-54.
Tonight's games feature Newton against Robinson at 7 p.m. in consolation bracket play while Edwards County (Albion) faces Red Hill (Bridgeport) at 8.
In Friday's opening round, Paris beat Newton 66-56. The Eagles held a 27-21 halftime lead but Paris came back with a 20-10 third quarter run and pulled out the victory.
Newton was led by Kyle Vahling with 16, Tim Weber with 11 and Collin Harris with 10.
