FLORA -- Effingham St. Anthony picked up its first round victory in the Flora Boys Freshman Tournament Thursday evening. The Bulldogs defeated host Flora 53-41.

Cade Walsh led the Bulldogs with 18 points, connecting on three trifectas. Alex Beesley and Adam Levitt tallied nine points each.

At Effingham

Effingham picked up two victories over visiting Robinson Thursday evening in freshman/sophomore action.

In the freshman contest, Effingham was a 49-23 winner. The Hearts held a 33-14 halftime lead. Mason Hull led the way with 16 points while Ryan Sandifer added 10.

In the sophomore game, Effingham claimed a 62-44 win. The Hearts jumped out to a 39-17 halftime lead and never looked back.

Ryan Sandifer scored 12 for the Hearts while Trevor Kreke added 11.
