"The girls battled tonight but we could not get a few things to go our way at the end of the game," said South Central Coach Kapper. "We were down by six at the end of the third quarter and came out on a 13-2 run to go up by five at the start of the fourth quarter. We had the momentum but Altamont hit some big shots and made stops when they had to.
"We have been in some close games at the end, but not one where two teams are trading the lead on each possession and the pressure just keeps getting bigger. Yes we wanted to win, but being in this type of game will help us to be better prepared the next time it happens. We had more balanced scoring putting three girls in double figures which is what we need to have. We will learn from this and work to improve."
