EHS Split in Frosh-Soph Boys Games

Effingham played host to Salem and split in freshman/sophomore boys basketball games Thursday evening.
The Wildcats won the freshman game 52-48. EHS actually took the early lead, 19-13 after the opening quarter and 27-24 at halftime. The Hearts still held a lead, 38-34, going into the final period. Salem then mounted a comeback with an 18-10 run and pulled out the win.
Effingham had two players hit double digits, Mason Hull with 23 and Ryan Sandifer with 19.
In sophomore play, the Hearts won 50-33. EHS held the lead from the get-go and outscored the Wildcats through the first three quarters.
Trevor Kreke scored 15 and Kyle Morrow 12.
