PANA -- Effingham High School bounced Pana 73-39 in a non-conference boys basketball contest Saturday evening.

The Hearts stepped out to a 22-10 opening quarter lead behind Michael Carie's 12 points and Braydon Bone's seven.

Grant Wolfe took over in the second period with 13 points while Bone again contributed, this time with eight. EHS held a 49-20 halftime lead.

Wolfe finished with 20 points while Bone and Carie tallied 19 each.

Marshall picked up a Little Illini Conference victory over Cumberland Saturday, 59-45.

Marshall held a 29-21 halftime lead then had a 19-11 third period run. Steele led four players in double figures with 17. Shaffner tallied 16, Wallace 12 and Lindsey 10.

Cumberland was led by Napier with 13, Brumleve with 11 and Shaon with 10.

Shelbyville picked up a 53-25 victory over Neoga in a non-conference contest Saturday.

The Rams edged out to a 9-2 opening quarter lead and pushed that to 24-8 at halftime. Hendryx scored 12 points and Peterson 11 for the winners.

Neoga was led by Moore with eight points.
