Shoes Stage Big Comeback, Win in OT; Other Friday Scores

The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes staged a big fourth quarter comeback and then won in overtime, 65-56, over Highland Friday night.

T-Town trailed 38-30 after the Bulldogs outpointed them 20-7 in the third quarter. The Shoes, though, outscored Highland 21-13 in the fourth quarter to knot the game at 51-51. T-Town outscored Highland 14-5 in the overtime period to post the win.

Teutopolis took a 10-6 first quarter lead and had the advantage at 23-18 at halftime before Highland's big third quarter surge.

Michael Drees led Teutopolis in scoring with 17 points, while Devin Smith and Brett Mette each scored 13 points. Also for the Shoes, Brock Mette and Tyler Gebben scored seven points each, Mitch Hardiek five, and Austin Johnson three.

With the win, Teutopolis improved to 12-2 on the season. Teutopolis won the JV game 68-30 to improve to 2-0 on the season.
